Excellent tea, but iced tea instructions are suspectDec 10, 2011

For some odd reason, the instructions on the inside flap of the box say to make iced tea at HALF the strength (1 tea bag per 16 ounces of water) of hot tea. This is backwards from all other teas (that recommend making iced tea at the same strength as, or at double the strength of, hot tea) that I normally encounter.
For my first experiment, I tried making unsweetened tea (as per other reviews) using only 4 bags (as per the box). It was OK, but not much better than unsweetened tea made with the Stash peach black tea that I can get locally.
For my second experiment, I tried using 6 tea bags, a 5 minute steeping time, 1/3 cup of sugar (more than I normally use), and plenty of pre-chilled water and ice. The resulting tea was absolutely delicious. If my calculations are correct, it had 32 calories per 8 ounces, and yet it tasted just about as sweet (and maybe even more flavorful) than commercial sweet peach teas weighing in at three times the calorie count.
If I have one criticism of this tea (other than the instructions), it's the total price. When you add in shipping, you almost double the effective price of a single box. I suspect that if you want to enjoy this tea on a regular basis, the most cost-effective way to do so is to purchase multiple boxes at a time so that the shipping cost can be spread out over them.

This is a wonderful tea! If you like mango flavored tea this is the best. Too bad it is not sold locally.

A fine wine has no better bouquet than this flavorsome tea. Mango Maui tea is fresh and savory. Steep a cup, grab a book and enjoy the break. I take mine with ice!
